I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I have developed a new addiction - stand up paddling. I first tried it with a real paddleboard. It was great. The paddleboard however, was borrowed and had to be returned to its rightful owner. Since then I have been using a kayak. Yes, I am standing up on a sit on top kayak. It works.

We have a variety of kayaks around here so I used the one Jim suggested - an Ocean Kayak Big Yak. It is a bit wider than the others so it gives me a good base to stand upon. I just took the seat back off of the kayak so I don't have to deal with it. The kayak itself is super easy to move on and off of the dock. I have been keeping the kayak right at the dock so it takes me less than five minutes to get down to the dock and get the kayak in the water.

Once I am in the water I start paddling. It is so peaceful out there. When the water is calm, you don't even realize you are getting any exercise until you have been at it for some time. I can pass an hour in calm waters no problem. In the chop with some wind blowing it is much more exercise. My shoulders and the back of my neck really feel it under those circumstances. Nevertheless, it is wonderful!

Miss Gina spent the week of Christmas with some friends of hers in Boquete. We were able to celebrate with her upon her return. Super cool color by number kits for the big kids. They are working on them in school. We are sure they will be a treasured piece of art for many years to come.

Our business partner's mother, Marge, has been living with us down here in Panama since last July. It has been nice to have a grandparent on site for all of the children. She is unable to travel around Panama so she set out to find elves to work with her to get all of her Christmas shopping and crafting completed. She managed to give each of us a special Christmas ornament. She gave the children each a special piece of clothing that is like having a part of Grandma with them. There were gifts for almost everyone under the tree from Grandmarge as our children call her. It means a lot to her to make sure she had us all covered but it means even more to us to have her spending her time with us. Last but not least, she gave the boys both large and small a pellet rifle.

Bicycles all around... Santa Claus dropped off four bicycles here on Christmas Morning. As you can imagine they each received a work out that very same day.
